Overview
The renovation of a French restaurant.
The interior features chairs covered with fabric printed with a design graphically reproduced from a lithograph ‘Kusamura’ (grassy knoll) by a Yamanashi prefecture painter. The restaurant’s counter and tables are made by a cabinetmaker artisan of walnut. The materials to decorate the restaurant are genuine and not showy.
This restaurant’s comfortable space of architecture, art and cuisine is a result of collaboration between the chef and the artists. My atelier also added to the effect by graphically adapting the painter’s oil paintings and lithographs on paper to make cards and menu books.
